From Hero to Zero
It started as one of those days.
Three trades.
Three clean breakouts.
Three perfect entries.
By 11:30 AM, my P&L was glowing green.
I leaned back in my chair and smiled.
“I have cracked it,” I thought.
“This market is easy.”
That’s when the market started watching me.
◉ The Shift
Around noon, a stock popped on my scanner.
Strong volume.
Fresh breakout.
Everything looked textbook.
But this time…
I didn’t wait for confirmation.
I didn’t check the higher timeframe.
I didn’t plan the SL properly.
Why would I?
I was on fire.
So I doubled my position size.
“Let’s make this a big one,” I told myself.
◉ The Reality Check
The stock moved up.
+0.5%
+1%
I felt like a king.
Then… one red candle.
Then another.
“No problem,” I said.
“It’s just a pullback.”
But it wasn’t.
Support broke.
Volume spiked… in selling.
SL is still not placed.
I froze.
Within minutes:
-
My day’s profit vanished
-
My capital dipped into red
-
My ego shattered
I finally exited.
Too late.
◉ From Hero… to Zero
In one careless trade,
I gave back everything I earned that day.
Not because:
-
The setup was bad
-
The market was wrong
But because I changed.
I stopped trading the system.
I started trading his confidence.
◉ The Lesson
Success is dangerous.
Not losses.
Not bad days.
Winning streaks.
They make you:
-
Ignore rules
-
Increase size emotionally
-
Feel invincible
That’s when the market teaches humility.
◉ Rule I Wrote That Day
“Trade your process, not your P&L.”
Green days don’t make you smart.
Discipline does.
